The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People Signature Program™
External coach, Freddy Vander Mijnsbrugge, who had been working with the Electrolux management for several years, shared the following story:
“A few years ago the management team was a unit of individuals who all did ‘their separate thing.’ I now notice during management meetings that colleagues treat each other with a more open and mature mind. They give each other more feedback, for instance, on their behavior, on positive issues, as well as on what can be improved. Electrolux coworkers that I coach tell me that thanks to this training, they’ve really looked into the mirror. They have had the chance to get to know themselves better, with both their personal strong points and improvement points open to view. In my face-to face conversations it’s now much easier to ‘polish’ the mirror and to build on these insights. The participants have transferred their learning experience into higher personal effectiveness. The management team also functions better, because they now make more use of the diversity present in the team. In the past, several people were not open to feedback, but the seminar has changed that situation. People now take more initiative and ask for personal coaching themselves. That was certainly not the case in the past!”
Joe O’Callahan, Assistant to the President, The Colonial Williamsburg Company
“Employees have realized that if they exceed customer expectations in their individual roles as part of the overall Colonial Williamsburg experience, the company will grow as a result,” said O’Callahan. “Every department feels ownership and accountability for our success, and increased guest satisfaction and intent to return have resulted.”
Julie Normington, Manager of Blockbuster’s Corporate Learning and Development department
“But it goes beyond training materials and curriculum. They [FranklinCovey] believe in the power of change; they believe that people, work teams, and individuals can change and want to change to make their work experiences and personal experiences richer and more productive.”
Both skills-based and principle-based training programs have been key aids in managing the explosive growth and changes within the company; and in summarizing FranklinCovey’s role in that process, Julie Normington said,“Obviously ‘training’ isn’t the answer. It is only part of a multifaceted solution. FranklinCovey has convinced me that you can start anywhere and go everywhere. Different departments at Blockbuster have chosen different paths, but ultimately the answer lies in each one of us pulling together as a collective whole and facing these challenges together.”
Charles Bradley, Director of Professional Development, Charlotte County Schools

Bob Matchett, Client Services Director, Graphic Inline
“The habit of ‘begin with the end in mind’ is now the mantra for all our project management planning and implementation. It has helped the managers to understand that they must start with a vision of what has to be achieved, and then work back through the steps that would deliver the desired result most effectively. In the same way, ‘think win-win’ is really an accurate description of how to run a client servicing function successfully, as it is all about balancing client needs and company needs to the benefit of both parties.”
