Joan Wright brings more than 35 years of experience and individual leadership and organization development. She is at home working within the C-Suite, having coached leaders in the positions of chief executive officer, president, chief information officer, chief financial officer, executive vice president and senior vice president at numerous companies within a range of industries. In addition to health care, these industries include technology (including Tele/internet), chemical, energy, global professional services, financial services, insurance, women’s apparel, hospitality, advertising and marketing and community associations. She also coached the deputy general counsel and head of school at the tenth largest independent school in the U.S.
Business and Career Background
Joan honed her business acumen over 21 years in human resources management roles with Philip Morris, Citicorp and GE Capital. A deep understanding of business and human resources served her well in her subsequent role as head of executive leadership development at Wachovia (Wells Fargo). She has operated as a strategy-minded consultant since 2000, enhancing bottom-line success for her many clients. She is respected speaker at major global leadership development and executive coaching conferences, such as the International Coach Federation, and a frequent contributor to professional and other journals and has made guest appearances on radio.
In a different sort of career high point, Joan authored UP – Pursuing Significance in Leadership and Life, a book to encourage individuals to begin, and continue, their climb to – and beyond – their personal summits. The book inspired Joan herself to scale the highest summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2012 for Senai Global: Climb for a Purpose to raise money and awareness for needs in Africa. Her Summit Advance Model is the underpinning to her unique approach to leadership and organization development.

Education and Affiliations
Joan holds a bachelor of arts from Rollins College and a master’s in clinical social work from Boston College. She is a master certified coach (MCC), an advanced certified corporate coach (ACC) and one of an elite group of only 50 Kolbe Copper Circle Consultants in the world. Affiliations include International Coach Federation (Charlotte Chapter) and Women Executives (WE), of which she is a past president.
