Military Suite for Strong Individuals & Families

FranklinCovey partners with the U.S. Military to help service members and their families build resilience and readiness.

The Challenge

Serving your country is one of the most noble things you can do. It can also pose unique challenges. In addition to the routine difficulties of life that all people face, service members and their families must also deal with the stress of deployment, separation from family and friends, and the realities of combat. Unmanaged stress can potentially lead to high-risk behaviors impacting individual readiness and unit mission success.

However, with the right preparation and education, service members can learn how to turn challenges into opportunities, establish a winning vision for their lives and their families, and develop the mindset and skillset to make this vision a reality. They can truly thrive.

Participant Testimonials

Spouse of Service Member

“My husband was returning home from a 7-month deployment. We had talked almost every day but the distance still made it hard. His National Guard unit provided Speed of Trust training for Military Families for us spouses at home, as prep for their return. My soldier and I started using the trust behavior cards on our FaceTime calls. He thought it was weird at first, but he’s been home three weeks now, and we use the cards every day. Even with the kids.”

Chaplain

“Life on post was never easy, and then Covid hit, and so many spouses were now living with their soldier at home. Always underfoot, usually in the way. We were overwhelmed by couples asking for counseling. We brought in Speed of Trust for Marriages, and that same week, the calls for counseling started to drop. We still have all the usual marital squabbles, but a weekly trust huddle handles most of them.”

Chaplain

“As I told you in the class, I’m not a planner. Life is supposed to be fun. Spontaneous. My wife did not see it that way, and we argued about everything. You saw some of that on day one. Day two was better, but things began to really shift when we got home. We had new words—proactivity, Big Rocks, Win-Win—that helped us stop talking in circles and to focus in on ‘what mattered most.’ Thanks for the new tool kit.“

Service Member

“My Brigade Chaplain pushed for the Speed of Trust for Strong Soldiers, and it really made us think about what we thought we knew. We saw that we had been operating in silos. After the course, we started building greater communication and even listening to each other openly. We got it right this time.”
