Jane Knight, Consultant

Intrigued by what it takes to create individual and organizational improvement, Jane Knight is passionate about helping clients work synergistically to face the difficult challenges inherent in today’s workplace.

Jane quickly builds trust with her clients. They value her wisdom—wisdom born through experiencing life as a change agent. They are confident in her ability to help them address their organizational challenges and implement life-changing principles throughout their cultures.

Prior to joining FranklinCovey as an Implementation Consultant for Education, Jane managed her own consulting practice offering guidance to school districts in comprehensive school improvement and instructional design. Her practice included programs in Effective Schools (organizational leadership development), 4MAT (instructional leadership development), and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (individual leadership development).

Throughout her successful 25 year career, Jane has taught kindergarten through graduate school and has held a number of leadership positions. She was Director of the North Alabama Teacher Exchange (Athens); Staff Developer for Decatur (Alabama) City Schools; Adjunct Instructor for the University of North Alabama (Florence); Principal of Eastwood Elementary and Carver Developmental Schools (Decatur, Alabama); Auburn University Home Extension Agent (Jefferson County, Alabama); and Home Services Advisor for the Alabama Power Company (Auburn).

Jane is passionate about helping educational clients integrate life-changing principles to build cultures that produce great results. As part of FranklinCovey’s Implementation Team, she is working to develop structures and programs to facilitate this work at the elementary school level.

Jane holds a PhD from Auburn University in curriculum and teaching with a concentration in leadership. She also earned an M.Ed from the University of Montevallo (Alabama) and a B.S. from Auburn University. She has certifications in leadership and special education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Jane completed an intensive study on professional growth for educators through an international class for staff developers, Academy II, National Staff Development Council.

Jane lives in Decatur, Alabama, with her husband Jerry. They have one son. Jane enjoys bicycling, playing, the piano and reading.
