Ruth Williams, Consultant
Having been the mother to19 children, 14 of whom were adopted from foreign countries, as well as five birth children, Senior Consultant, Ruth Williams knows the importance of managing time and resources and leading to help others succeed.
Ruth approaches her work with the intent of providing the motivation and tools to help people find their niche in life. To date she has influenced thousands of people to stretch their limits both professionally and personally.
Prior to joining FranklinCovey in 1991, Ruth had 10 years of consulting and training experience. She was director of training for Cincinnati Bell Information Systems, Inc. She also worked as a sales consultant with Jerry Turk and Associates, a bank marketing firm. She developed a variety of adult education programs for the state of Louisiana on a special commission appointed by the governor.
Ruth has successfully worked with a variety of organizations, many on the Fortune 100 and 500 lists. Her clients represent industries including insurance, banking, television, telecommunications, trucking, aerospace, automobile leasing, and real estate. She has also worked with governmental agencies, branches of the military, and institutions of higher education. Ruth enjoys opportunities to provide keynote addresses for conventions and special events.
Ruth has earned an M.A. in psychology from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. She has a B.S. in English from Louisiana State University and is a certified personal coach through CoachU University. She is currently working on her PhD in Organizational Leadership.
Ruth lives in Orlando, Florida with her husband, Pat, who is Senior Vice President of the Orlando Magic. Her unique family has been featured in Sports Illustrated, Readers Digest, the Wall Street Journal, Focus on the Family, and all major television networks. Ruth is an avid sports fan and has completed 12 marathons, including the Boston Marathon, the Disney Marathon, and the New York Marathon.
Ruth is the author of five books: How To Be Like Women of Influence where she harnesses the spirit of 20 heroic women who changed the world through their mission; You’ve Got To Be Kidding, a book written with her husband around their experiences raising 19 children; Turn Boring Orations into Standing Ovations was written to help those who wish to become better speakers; How To Be Like Women of Power highlights 21 women in positions of power and captures their wisdom and advice to help women everywhere to create their own destiny; and her latest out in November of 2009, Happy Spouse, Happy House, a book outlining the BEST game plan for a winning marriage.
